Ahoy, you scallywags!

Just wanted to say thank you to those of you who attended our last meetup at the Ohio Renaissance Faire. I had a great time and I hope you did , too. It was a huge faire with lots of great shows and shopping. Also, staying at the Frontier Campground was a great experience. Everyone was very nice, especially the owners.

For those of you who did not make it, we may be going again next year. However, next summer, we may be looking in to the faire in Pennsylvania, since it came highly recommended by some folks we talked to.

Anyway, someone just asked me what our next meetup was going to be. And honestly, for once I have no idea! (First time for everything. lol) Since the colder months are right around the corner and most events relating to our group are about over, we will probably be having some off topic meetups, geared to just keeping the group in touch and having a good time until the warmer weather returns.

So, I ask you all for your ideas. Halloween is just over a month away and it will be one last chance for us to get into our gear and have a good time. So I was thinking that we could venture to one of the many haunted events, such as Nightmare in Painesville, but there are many others to choose from. Or, we could look into having a pirate themed party. Let me know what you all would like to do. Suggestions would be much appreciated.

As for November, Sonia and I have been throwing around the idea of having a huge benefit party in the spring for a local children's home or charity. I already have at least two bands lined up for this as well as two possible venues. The way it would work would be that people would pay a cover charge at the door or buy their tickets in advance, and all of the proceeds would go to the charity of our choosing. The aim would be to get local businesses to give donations which could be monetary, or in the form of services such as food or prizes for the guests. There is more to it than I can possibly type here, but I know this is an event that we could do to give back to the community, where people could dress up like a pirate, have a great time, while getting the Jolly Rogers name out there. Who knows, this could be the start of a yearly thing, or the beginning of something even bigger, such as a local faire. So, I think that November would be a great time for us to get together, form a bit of a committee, and get this thing rolling so that we can have it in the spring. So, if you are interested in helping with this event or know of a great children's charity, please let me know. I will be posting the meetup regarding this soon.

And of course, we will definitely be doing something to celebrate the holidays.

So, once again, please let me know what YOU would like out next meetup to be.
