Picnic Tomorrow - Why Your RSVP is Important

Hello all. I just want to thank all of you who put in your RSVP for the Pirate Picnic tomorrow at Rocky River Reservation. Unfortunately, out of 21 members, only about 8 of you have RSVPed. This is very disappointing.

The issue in not whether or not you can make an event, but that you let us KNOW whether you can or cannot. When you don't RSVP, you make things difficult for the organizers, especially for an event like this where Sonia and I are using our own money to pay for much of the food for this event. And when people don't RSVP, we don't know for sure how many are coming, and risk either not bringing enough food or bringing too much and wasting food, and consequently our own money.

So in the future, your RSVP is expected whether you are answering yes or no, and if your RSVP is maybe, this RSVP needs to be updated to either yes or no within 48 hours of that event. If you fail to RSVP three events on a row, you will be asked to leave the group. I hate to do this because this is such a great group with wonderful members, and I want the group to GROW, not shrink. But it has come to my attention that a lot of members do not realize what kind of work and money goes into a group like this, and it requires cooperation from everyone to be able to continue it. So lets work together so we can continue to have fun and grow.

On a brighter note, the Pirate Picnic at Rocky River Reservation is tomorrow at 1:00. For those of you who would still like to come, PLEASE do. There have been a couple of last minute cancellations and I would hate to see all this great food go to waste! We will be in a covered area, so if there is a little rain, we will still be okay.

We will be meeting at the Scenic Pavillion. This is the FIRST pavilion you will see when entering the park to your right hand side, near the swing set. There will be purple tablecloths on the tables. Sonia and I will be bringing burgers, hot dogs, cole slaw, pasta salad, homemade soup, chips and pop. If anyone is willing to bring a dessert or beer, that would be great.

If your RSVP has changed for this event, please let me know ASAP.
