Since the scuttlin' o' Pirates Tavern, we've been searchin' fer a friendly port to host our First Friday get-together. I' been suggested we blow north and try Irishtown Bar and Grill (formerly GK's Sports Bar) in Vancouver, and Commodore MacLean was pirate enough to contact the proprietors about just such a raid. They seem open to the idea (the fools!), so I say we show 'em what we're all about.

MacLean, correct me if'n I'm wrong about any o' this, but here's what I've heard:

First Friday Raid on Irishtown Bar and Grill
11600 SE Mill Plain Blvd # F - Vancouver, WA - (360) 253-1479
Friday, April 4th at 7pm
Irish Music starts at 8pm

They don't have the bigscreen TV hooked up yet, but they're going to try to get it running by Friday, so we can watch those Long John Silver episodes that were discussed earlier, if we want to.

In addition to bein' a a new port fer us, we'll also be celebratin' the natal day of our own Ruby Rumbottom (aka Black Maggie), so be sure'n save a birthday hug (or spankin') fer me lovely first mate!

Post away & tell us if yer gonna make it!

I'm pretty sure it was Dearbhail who organised this with Peter at Irishtown, since I was there with them when it was brought up. MacLean, you might have done, too.

The food was good, drinks reasonable and it was SMOKE FREE, which was nice. Peter and the staff seemed very receptive to us, and in the future we might have the opportunity to take to the stage if we so desire. Downsides? Vancouver's dicey to get to from the south at that time of day, though I had pretty smooth sailing. And DJ Clueless didn't do much to keep things moving, but I hear he's not a regular fixture. All in all an enjoyable evening. And Ruby Rumbottom sends her thanks to everyone who came to share her birthday with her!
    •  Twas great to see old friends and make new ones. The locals were welcoming enough; this place has promise.
    •  good food, good music, nice folks and loads of smiles woot!
