Um... I'm not sure when gate opens on this, as it isn't on their website. Anyhow, come out and support Gypsy as she makes her bid to be King! Come dressed up as Pirates, Mermaids, Wenches, Sea Monsters and Creatures of the Sea. Prizes will be awarded to the best costumes! There will also be cool raffle prizes! Limited appetizers will be provided as well as the famously dangerous rum punch. Please bring your own poison and appetizers to share with the crew. Donations of rum, gold, and special talents are gladly accepted. In the spirit of Captain Jack Sparrow, we may even be graced with a few acts of lewd entertainment. Please make sure everyone in your crew is 21+ as we will have security at the door checking ID.
There will be a $5 entry fee per person at the door, of which, 100% will be donated directly to AOK (Acts of Kindness) Friends! AOK Friends is a Washington State nonprofit group made up of people in the community who provide hot meals and warm spirits to the homeless in Seattle on Sundays. The group is currently funding the project with donations from family, friends, and the community and is working on obtaining Federal non-profit status to create a means for expanding the number of homeless that can be fed. The goal of the group is to create a community of love and happiness where each and every person reaches out to one another in times of need. YAY, the return of the Renn Faire!! We're going to meet inside the front gate at 11:00am... and from there, I guess we'll most likely disperse, as everyone will probably want to do different things in a different order. However, we'll be meeting together! :) Or, show up when you can, and look for us on site! :) Just because this is the meetup day, doesn't mean you can't show up on other days, or camp for the weekend. This is just the best bet for when Captain Kat and Jubei can attend. Discount when tickets are purchased online, or there may still be some discount coupons available at Half Price books. It is once again that time of year; time to raise the sail and hoist anchor! That's right, you scurvy dogs, it is time to set sail for SeaDog Nights and Gypsy Carnival!
It is straight down to business we'll be gettin' -- this year's SeaDog Nights and Gypsy Carnival will be held July 23- 27 at Cheadle Lake Park
in Lebanon, Oregon! It is with great anticipation and trepidation that we are lookin' forward
to seein' you and all those scoundrels that you call friends Join us for the celebration of the year! As you know we humble pirates are not the type to be sittin' around and twiddlin' our thumbs. We will be havin' some mighty lively entertainment! There will be numerous workshops available to learn all kinds of new and interesting things in areas that capture your attention! The Gypsy Carnival will keep you on your toes as they tempt you with shiny objects
and captivate you with their jovial attitudes toward the world. It is with not one but two Gypsy Parades that we shall celebrate all throughout SeaDogs, this wonderful get-together of friends from all over. Bring your noise-makers, booty-shakers and everything shiny you can get your hands on to be a part of this plethora of gypsies and pirates, and know for sure that the cannons are not the only bang-up performance on site! This is a garbed event. It is a pub crawl (sorry, no smalls or legal minors allowed), please bring your ID and leave weaponry at home.
In honor of Plunderathon, which many of us can't make it to this year, we are going to Walk the Plank! "The plank" being Tacoma's 6th Ave. The exact course we are setting is still to be determined, however we will be starting at O'Malley's Irish Pub at 9pm. The Gathering has always been one of the more fun pirating events of the summer. It was also where the Criminal Dawn made it's first appearance (with a crew of two). We'd like to invite everyone out for a wonderful time of pirating!! This is a camping event that will last the entire weekend. Memorial Day Weekend, May 22-25th 2009 Come on ye Rogues, Scallywags and Scoundrels, Corsairs, Pirates and Buccaneers!! All who feel the salty seas coursing through their veins, & those who dream to. Don't worry if you are peerage or royalty, cause we won't tell a soul-- unless of course we can ransom ye for some pretties! All are welcome to join in the revelry! Other items of note (from their webpage, found here):
NO PETS, NO EXCEPTIONS.
Fires are ok following SCA guide lines, (above ground/contained) but NOT under the trees or in the wooded camping areas.
Pack your own garbage either home or to the LIMITED dumpster.
Minors caught drinking get booted from the event. Adults are $20, children 6-13 are $10 and babes under 6 are free. NO CHECKS. Check out thread on the message board for more info.
